The City of Bangor, Maine invites sealed proposals from qualified contractors to install approximately 143 feet of 48-inch HDPE storm to replace an aging and undersized 36-inch pipe system. This work will also include installation of 10 linear feet of 12" PVC storm drain, 70 linear feet of 15" HDPE storm drain, 40 linear feet of 18" HDPE storm drain, 20 linear feet of 24" HDPE storm drain, 2 new drain manholes, 5 new catch basins, abandonment of the existing 36-inch storm drain system with flowable fill, maintaining storm drain flows, erosion control, traffic control, and roadway restoration. Refer to "Scope of Services" and "Duration of Services" for additional information. All questions must be directed in writing to bids@bangormaine.gov no later than 4:30 P.M. on May 25, 2022. The City will issue addenda as necessary in response to any questions or inquiries raised at the pre-bid meeting or submitted in writing. All work shall be completed by September 1, 2022. Contractor shall furnish a performance bond and a payment bond, each in an amount at least equal to the Contract Price, as security for the faithful performance and payment of all of the Contractor's obligations under the Contract. Each bidder must submit with bid a certified check, bid bond or cash in the amount of 5% of his total bid price as his guarantee that the bidder will enter into the Contract, if awarded. The City of Bangor reserves the right to reject any and all proposals received and to waive any informality, technical defect, or clerical error in any proposal as the interest of the City may require.
