Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a mixed-use development in Bristol, Maine. Completed plans call for the addition of a educational facility; for the demolition of a educational facility; for the renovation of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.

As of January 12, 2022, a general contractor has been chosen but construction will not start until Spring 2024. A completion date is set for Winter 2024. The Project consists of construction a new café, kitchen/server, meeting, and event space within an existing structure, the addition of five (5) new classrooms totaling 6,538 square feet and renovating existing spaces totaling 7,935 square feet to accommodate the Bristol Consolidated School. Program upgrades include classroom and office renovations, bathrooms, and other support space renovations. The roof system to consist of EPDM roofing on the new addition that will accommodate a flat roof over the four new classrooms which will be structurally designed to accommodate a second story for potential expansion in the future. A new teachers room addition will also have a flat roof so as not to conflict with the existing solar panels. The new classroom on the south wing is proposed to have an asphalt roof to match existing. Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing scopes of work are design-build. The Owner wishes to utilize a ducted heat pump system with cooling capability in the new areas of construction and upgrade the existing areas with ducted heat pumps all capable of meeting AHRAE ventilation requirements for a school. It is anticipated that the existing boilers and infrastructure will support the heat pumps system. Refer to AOS#93's Request for Proposals (RFP) for additional information and respond as requested.
