The Town of Farmington is requesting proposals for the replacement of the existing boiler system at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, located at 269 Farmington Falls Road. The successful bidder will be responsible for the removal of all non-essential material and disposal of the replaced system and accessories, including all piping, insulation, valves, plumbing, electrical, and any and all concrete work where necessary. Proposal is to replace Veissman wall-hung boiler with a commercial Purepro Trio oil boiler, or equivalent cast iron boiler of high efficiency rating. Boiler package shall include listed or equivalent: Trio 547k BTU 9-secti8on boiler Riello burner Boiler trim package Taco 0034e circulator Caleffi 548 hydro separator All black iron fittings, pipe, nipples and ball valves to connect to existing feed and return manifolds. All required hangers and fasteners 330-gallon vertical oil tank package Oil line from tank to boiler All automatic controls. Controls will monitor outside air temperature, heating water temperatures, and flame out to adjust the operating systems accordingly. Replacement boiler shall have a working efficiency rating of 85% or greater which will be tested and certified by the installer at completion and submitted with request for final payment. Proposal shall also include parts and labor to replace Selkirk chimney and connect to boiler: 30'8" Selkirk Metalbestos Pipe (or equivalent) Cleanout tee and brackets Selkirk topper Selkirk roof boot Selkirk through-roof bracket All disciplines necessary to complete the project will be coordinated by the successful bidder, including removal of existing equipment. Specific timeframe to be negotiated in contract, but if work cannot be completed prior to November 1, 2025, it will need to be pushed out to spring of 2026.
