Renovation of a municipal facility in Lebanon, Maine. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
The Town of Lebanon is requesting bids for the replacement of the Water Softener System at Lebanon Town Office. You and your agents and employees, during the performance of this contract, shall act in an independent capacity and not as officers or employees or agents of the Town. Any manpower needed to fulfil the obligations of this contract shall be employed by you and you shall be solely responsible for complying with applicable state and federal laws, including but not limited to, worker's compensation law, employment security law and minimum wage law. As an independent contractor, you are also responsible for maintaining your equipment in a safe, operable and legal condition. You are also responsible to ensure your employees work in a safe manner in accordance with applicable state safety requirements. Replace the existing Water Softener System. a. Remove and dispose of existing water softener system. b. Install a new salt-free water softener system compatible and safe for use with the Eljen Geotextile Sand Filter system and Septic Tanks. c. The new water softener system is required to be installed in accordance with local building codes and the manufacturer's installation requirements. d. Contractor is responsible for acquiring applicable permits and coordinating with Lebanon Code Enforcement for work inspection. The contractor will need to provide a plan/timeline for work being performed to the Select Board for planning and impact to personnel working in the building. Work is permitted to begin at the time of acceptance and should be completed within 60 days of acceptance. The Contractor must provide signed, valid and enforceable certificate(s) of insurance complying with this Section. All insurance must be procured from insurance companies licensed or approved to do business in the State of Maine by the State of Maine, Department of Business Regulation, Bureau of Insurance. The Contractor must pay all premiums and take all other actions necessary to keep said insurance in effect for the duration of the Contract obligations. This insurance section and the purchase of insurance by the Contractor shall not be interpreted as a waiver of any immunity provided by law including that provided by the Maine Tort Claims Act, 14 M.R.S.A. 8101, et. seq. The Board of Selectmen reserves the right to waive all information in bids, to accept any bid or any portion thereof, or to reject any or all bids. In evaluating bids, price shall be a major factor but not the only consideration.
