The work for the 2026 Pump Station Replacements - Foss 2 and Sabattus shall consist of, but not be limited to, the complete and satisfactory construction and installation of the following at both the Foss 2 and Sabattus pump stations: Question Deadline 09/04/2026 All questions by prospective bidders pertaining to the Contract Documents, Plans and Specifications must be received, in writing, by the Engineer, at least five (5) days before the date set for the opening of the Proposals. Any questions which , in the opinion of the Purchasing Agent, require interpretation Removal of an existing Smith & Loveless suction pump dry well units set on top of an existing six (6) foot diameter concrete wet well (to remain), install additional six (6) foot diameter precast concrete barrel sections extending the existing wet well up to surface grade, remove existing concrete chamfer at the bottom of the existing wet well, new submersible pumps, ductile iron pipe and fittings, transducer and backup floats, one (1) six (6) foot diameter precast check valve vault, sewer bypass during construction, sewer piping connection to existing force main, electrical transfer switch, electrical service line and meter, conduits, wiring connections, VFD/control panel, new backup generators, sitework as necessary and anything else incidental to the proper completion of the project as outlined or implied in the Plans and Specifications. Refer to the plans for installation and materials. No Proposal will be considered unless it is accompanied by a bid security in the form of a bid bond or certified check in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid price, made out in favor of the City of Lewiston. All bid securities will be released upon deliverance of a signed Contract or, if no Contract award is made, within forty-five (45) days after the opening of the Proposals, unless forfeited as herein stipulated. A Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond, preferably executed on AIA Bond Form Number A311, in an amount equal to the total Contract price, of a surety company satisfactory to the Purchasing Agent, will be required of the successful bidder to ensure completion of the work and the proper fulfillment of the conditions of the Contract. The total Contract price shall mean the total bid price as stated in the Proposal based on the estimated quantities of the various items of work.
