Roof membrane project 30 % design estimate cam e in at more than 3 x the cost w e anticipated - project postponed. Past roof funding was reallocated to cover the recently collapsed roof for the annex building. On-going evaluations are in process on completing the design and patching smaller sections of the existing roof. Replace the Public Work s garage's 30 year-old, modified bitumen roof membrane system with a new 20 year warranty/EPDM roof system and increase insulation to improve energy efficiency. $380,000 previously funded, did not meet the estimates provided with the 30 % roof assessment and design done Jun e 2023 , s o existing funds were utilized to resolve an emergency roof repair on the Public Work s Anne x building. Base d on the the 35 % roof assessment and design report, the roof system still needs to be replaced but ha s not presented any immediate concerns. Cos t escalation is currently at 10 % per year. The project is included in the City's 2027-2031 Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
