Renovation of a museum in Monmouth, Maine. Completed plans call for the renovation of a museum.
In 2022, Monmouth voters approved federal ARPA funds to be spent on replacing the A/C units at Cumston Hall. Currently at the Hall, there are two condenser units. One is a 300 ton unit that cools the library, first floor, and basement. The second is a 500 ton unit that is used to cool the opera hall and caucus room. These units were installed in 2000 and have reached the end of their serviceable life. They continue to operate, however repair/recharging is not possible due to them both containing R-22 refrigerant, now banned and no longer produced. Therefore, Cumston Hall is reaching out to vendors for the replacement of the current air conditioning system at Cumston Hall.Cumston Hall is a treasured architectural masterpiece that is registered with the National Registry of Historic Places. As such, guidelines may apply to installation of equipment.We are hopeful for a timeline that includes an install as soon as possible, but understand supply chain issues may affect this timing.
