Renovation of a library in Turner, Maine. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 13,200-square-foot, four-story above grade library.
Leavitt Institute Boiler Replacement The Town of Turner is now accepting proposals for replacement of the boiler at the Leavitt Institute building, 98 Matthews Way. The successful proposal will demonstrate an understanding of the heating needs of the building and the town's desire for dependability, durability and efficiency. The current oil-fired boiler has a net rating of 464,000 BTU/hr to heat the four-story, 13,200 square foot building. Proposals shall contain a detailed description of the equipment to be provided, all costs for installation and connection to existing hot-water piping, exhaust venting, removal and disposal of the existing boiler (negotiable), and costs associated with transitioning to propane, if proposed. The town is open to and anticipates proposals for both fuel oil and propane systems. All work shall be completed by Friday, December 6, 2024. The winning proposal will be the one determined to be in the best interest of the town.
