The Yah-tah-hey Wastewater system is in serious need of improvement and currently does not meet the requirement of the wastewater discharge permit. Planning efforts will require addressing geotechnical studies, as well as drainage & erosion studies. Design and construction is needed to replace the existing clay liner that is cracking, rebuild berms at the lagoon ponds, address potential surface runoff into the lagoons because of adjacent soil erosion, and elevate the third lift station and its controls which are subject to serious inundation. The old lagoon needs to be renovated to allow for additional capacity. The entire wastewater plant (40 acres) needs to be enclosed (fenced-6000 linear feet, 8-ft high with two gates for access). There is a breach in the fourth evaporative pond, which will need to be repaired. Scope of work: Rehabilitation of the south main lift station, sewer lagoons and ponds. As of January 27, 2022, this project is currently in the FY 2023-2027 CIP . Funding for this project is allotted in the city's capital improvement plan for construction Fy 2023. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year 2023. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
