New construction of a medical facility in Windsor, Ontario. Completed plans call for the construction of a 1,600,000-square-foot, nine-story above grade medical facility.

Public-Private-Partnership (P3) for the construction of a new acute care hospital facility at County Road 42 and 9th Concession. Situated on a 60-acre site, the new acute care hospital will span 1.6 million sq ft with state-of-the-art Emergency/Trauma Services, Cancer Care, Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Regional Cardiac Services, Critical Care, Medical/Surgical Inpatient Units, Surgical Services, and Outpatient Clinics. The hospital will include increased bed capacity as well as increased capacity in Emergency Services to increase to meet patient needs into the future. Once completed, the new hospital feature: -More space bringing the total beds to nearly 600. -A new 24/7 emergency department. -World-class cancer care. -Complex trauma support. -Maternal and newborn care. -Surgical services and critical care. -Neurology and cardiology services. -More single-patient rooms to increase patient privacy and prevent the spread of infection. PHASE 1 includes the construction of an Administration Centre with an auditorium, simulation training centre, classrooms and office space for support staff, a multi-level parking garage that will connect into the new facility and provide convenient, covered access to services in the new hospital, and essential site infrastructure to support future phases of the hospital build. The new facility will be located at Concession Rd 9 and County Rd 42. TIMELINE: Ground Breaking took place July 2026. Construction is underway. Awarded trades are unreleased for publication. *Diamond Schmitt leads planning and design of Phase 1 of the new Fancsy Family Hospital. *Once ground is broken for construction of Phase 1 in the north-west corner of the site, development will continue east and south until the new hospital is complete. *Early project costs for this project have been estimated at 2 billion, however, preliminary cost estimates are expected to increase significantly from previous projections. *Provincial government investment is 202 million.
