General Contractor - Residence Hall West Renovation and Addition. This RFPQ is the first stage in a two-stage procurement process for the selection of a General Contractor to complete the Project. The second stage of this procurement process is expected to commence in first quarter 2023. In this first stage, the University intends to conduct a prequalification process for General Contractors. Only General Contractors prequalified through this RFPQ process will be invited to participate in the second stage of the procurement process for the Project. The University has entered into a partnership agreement with the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit (WECHU or the Tenant). Included in the partnership agreement is WECHU's intention to enter into a long-term lease with the University for the majority of the Residence Hall West building. Through the Project, the building will be expanded and transformed into a commercial office space, equipped with dental suites and counselling rooms (designed to a C1/Type 1 Designation), vaccine storage, client-facing classrooms and meeting spaces including a teaching kitchen, and five floors of traditional office spaces for WECHU's team.
