New construction of a medical facility in Windsor, Ontario. Design plans call for the construction of a medical facility.
Construction of a new acute care hospital facility at County Road 42 and 9th Concession. Situated on a 60-acre site, the new acute care hospital will span 1.6 million square feet with state-of-the-art Emergency/Trauma Services, Cancer Care, Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Regional Cardiac Services, Critical Care, Medical/Surgical Inpatient Units, Surgical Services, and Outpatient Clinics. The hospital will include increased bed capacity as well as increased capacity in Emergency Services to increase to meet patient needs into the future. TIMELINE: Land acquisition has been finalized. The Owner has submitted Stage 1.3 planning documents to the Ministry of Health for review. Once approvals are in place, project will proceed to Stage 2, which includes more detailed schematic designs. A second call for Consortia to provide Design-Build Finance will be issued and the awarded proponent will provide working drawings. Tendering process is not expected to begin until early 2025. Site preparation works are ongoing and expected to take 12-18 months to complete. An RFP for Enabling Works, including administration building and parking garage, has been issued and is being followed in a separate report. Further update may be available spring 2025. Construction budget has yet to be finalized. LEA Consulting are the Traffic Consultants.
