Demolition, site work and addition to a mixed-use development in Boulder, Colorado. Completed plans call for the addition of a 22,000-square-foot educational facility; for the demolition of a educational facility; for site work for a educational facility; laboratory facility; educational facility; and laboratory facility.
The University of Colorado Boulder seeks to construct a 22,000 GSF addition to the Ramaley Biology building, located on the university's Main Campus. The new facility (14,500 ASF) will provide office/conference spaces (4,700 ASF), wet laboratory spaces (5,800 ASF), and clinical spaces (2,900 ASF) for the IPHY units currently located in the Carlson Gymnasium. Project goals include: 1) modern research facilities for (3) current faculty plus (2) future faculty hires; 2) lab spaces should be designed to be economically reconfigurable (i.e., open/flexible) for future research activities; 3) promote interaction with other programs currently within Ramaley Biology: Evolutionary Biology (EBIO) and other IPHY units; and 4) the addition will be identified as the new home for IPHY. As of May 2, 2019, this project is under construction. The project has been under construction for about four months. All trades have been awarded.
