Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Galt, California. Design plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
The proposed project consists of the replacement of an existing two-lane road concrete bridge with a new two-lane road pre-tension multiple-girder bridge on New Hope Road at Grizzly Slough waterway and about half a mile north of the San Joaquin County line. The project is funded by the Federal Highway Bridge Program. As of August 2025, the project is in design and in the cost estimate process. Construction is expected to begin in the spring 2026 and completion in the winter 2026. This project is currently in the Sacramento County's FY 2021-2026 CIP. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
