Site work for a civil project in New Roads, Louisiana. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
As of May 29, 2025, construction is underway. The project is scheduled to be completed in five years. They will use sediment, water and nutrients from the Mississippi River to build as much as 21 square miles of new land in in Plaquemines and Jefferson parishes over the next 50 years. It will transport up to 75,000 cubic feet per second of water and sediment during high river periods, when the river's flow is at 450,000 cfs or greater, generally between January and August, and as much as 5,000 cfs to keep the channel clear during lower water flow periods. *Project information, including timeline and contacts, has been obtained through public sources.
