The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. This is a pedestrian improvement project on OR8, Canyon Rd, in Beaverton, OR. Project actions include: - Install a pedestrian crossing and ramps on the western leg of the OR8 and SW Cedar Hills Blvd, - Install two raised medians on OR8 between SW Cedar Hills Blvd and SW Watson St, - Install an enhanced pedestrian crossing on OR8 at SW Rose Biggi Ave, and - Place new crosswalk striping at OR8 and SW Broadway St. Install a Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) on the east side of SW Rose Biggi Avenue to include median island and marked pedestrian crossing. o Opening of a marked crosswalk across the west leg of the OR8/Cedar Hills Blvd intersection to include pedestrian pushbutton. o Install raised median islands on OR8 at the following locations: o Median island between 100 feet east of Cedar Hills Blvd and 200 feet west of Rose Biggi Avenue. The existing median striping of the 2-way left turn lane on OR8 from the end of the raised median island to Rose Biggi Avenue will be maintained to accommodate turning movements. o Median island between Rose Biggi Avenue and Watson Avenue. o Install trees/plants in the medians where appropriate. o Provide enhanced lighting at the OR8/Cedar Hills Blvd and OR8/Hall Blvd intersections. o Reconstruct ADA ramps as required. o Restripe pavement markings where practical and upgrade signing as necessary. o Install 8" round white pavement markers along the NB bike stripes on Broadway Street. SW Cedar Hills Blvd (Figure 2) o Installation of new illumination poles at the northwest and southwest corners. The foundation depth for the poles is anticipated to be approximately 10 ft. New junction boxes with concrete bases will also be constructed. o New ADA ramps on the west side of the intersection. The ramp on the SW corner will necessitate a tree removal as the existing paved sidewalk footprint will be expanded by approximately 50 square feet. o Removal and installation of new stormwater pipe. The sump at the southwest corner of the intersection is being moved to accommodate new ADA ramps. The pipe will be installed approximately 5 ft below the ground surface. The bottom of the sump is approximately 2 ft. SW Rose Biggi Ave to SW Watson Ave (Figure 3) o New ADA ramps at the intersection of SW Canyon Rd and SW Rose Biggi Ave. The ramps on the NE corner and south side of SW Canyon Road will expand the existing paved footprint by approximately 30 square feet. o Installation of new illumination and RRFB poles at the east side of SW Rose Biggi Ave and the west side of SW Watson Ave. The foundation depth for the poles is anticipated to be approximately 8 to 10 ft. New junction boxes with concrete bases will also be constructed. o Installation of an approximately 60 ft vegetated longitudinal median. An irrigation line will be installed beneath the roadway to the south of the median. The median will be approximately 9 ft wide and excavation will be on the order of 2.5 ft below the roadway. The irrigation line excavation will be approximately 2 ft deep with manual drain valves to a maximum depth of up to 4 ft. SW Hall Blvd (Figure 4) o Installation of new illumination poles at the NE and SW corners. The foundation depth for the poles is anticipated to be approximately 10 ft. New junction boxes with concrete bases will also be constructed. MBE (4.5%), WBE (6.9%), DBE (15%) Construct streetscape, safety & operational enhancements of median islands and crosswalk striping between SW 117th Ave & SW Lloyd St with new pedestrian crossing at Cedar Hills Blvd, & rapid flashing beacon at Rose Biggi Ave, for safer pedestrian access. 135 nights of work between 9/1/2025 to 6/10/2026
