***As of December 20 ,2019 project has been awarded with the amount of 114,996.28. Head of Westport Landing Stonework Stabilization and Repair. The Town of Westport invites sealed bids from qualified contractors capable of providing stonework stabilization and repair to a small landing at the Head of Westport in the Town of Westport in accordance with specifications on file in the Selectmen's office. The Town of Westport has a number of public landings administered by the elected Landings Commission. One of the landings at "Head of Westport." This landing is generally used by the public for putting in and taking out kayaks and canoes or other smaller vessels. The landing is constructed of granite stones and capstones to protect the landing and minimize the impact of erosion.A large number of the stones and capstones have become misaligned and unstable.The purpose of this project is to stabilize and realign the landing stones at this location. There are numerous smaller stones that need to be reset. There are many capstones estimated to weigh between 1,500-2000 lb. (This is only an estimate and bidders should visit the site and verify.) There are two separate work sections along the west side of the landing that in total comprise approximately 616 linear feet of stonework.
