Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Whitewood, Saskatchewan. Design plans call for the construction of a 300,000-square-foot, three-story above grade, 1,450-seat stadium; fitness / recreation center; playground / park / athletic field; and swimming pool.
Construction of a multi-use Recreation facility to include: 2 ice arenas including second floor seating, viewing area, common area, multi-purpose and retail space totaling approx. 11,000 m2; fieldhouse including seating on the second floor, and a running track and fitness area on the third floor totaling approx. 13,000 m2; 2 gymnasiums including second floor seating totaling approx. 1,800 m2; 650 m2 library; 550 m2 childcare; multipurpose rooms totaling approx. 2,300 m2; aquatics centre including second floor viewing rooms totaling approx. 4,400 m2; parking lots, and outdoor facilities which may include ball diamonds, tennis courts, playground and sports field. Construction will be phased. The first phase will focus on the spectator and community arenas; second phase will be the fieldhouse; gymnasium, library and child-care centre will proceed in the third phase followed by the aquatic centre in the fourth phase. TIMELINE: Design development has been completed. Project is on indefinite hold pending financing. Owner is expecting to initiate a fundraising campaign. Construction is currently not expected in the near term. *Phase one cost estimate is $46.7 million and Phase two is estimated at $31.6 million.
