Project Name: Howard Park Community Center, located at: 1302 Parker Ave., West Palm Beach, FL. 33401 Summary Project Description :Enclosed pavilion area and portions of the covered walkways in the existing community center to remain. (See Pavilion Renovation Plans) Removal/demolition of the existing exterior pavement located on the south end of the existing community center. Removal/demolition of existing concrete sidewalks (See Existing Site Demolition Plan). 1. Demolition: Removal/Demolition of existing shuffle board courts & covered canopy areas. Removal/Demolition of stand-alone building between the shuffle board courts and the existing community center. Removal/Demolition of portions of the existing community center (See Demolition Plans). 2. Renovation: Retain the existing truss system located in the enclosed pavilion space in the existing community center. Modify the truss system by removing the projecting portion at the top of the truss (See Pavilion Detail Plans). Removal of existing glass walls to create an open pavilion space. Repair modified roof as needed. Remove existing flooring tiles and resurface existing concrete pad. Remove existing light fixtures and replace with new light fixtures. Renovation of existing men's & women's restrooms at east and west side of pavilion. 3. New Construction: Proposed new community center approx. 8,500 SF to be built just south of the west parking lot. Community center to have multipurpose rooms, restrooms, open seating areas, café area, staff office area, kitchen, and other ancillary spaces (janitorial room, IT room, storage room).
