Site work, paving and renovation of a bridge / tunnel in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the renovation of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
The work to be performed for the Monroe County Bridge No. 4 - Demolition of the existing bridge barrier and removal and replacement of fascia beams and transverse tendons. Removal of existing asphalt deck paving. Class 1 Excavation and backfill, Maintenance of grout in shear keys, Installation of new deck waterproofing and asphalt paving. Repairs, upgrades and replacement of approach guiderail. The work shall include all labor, materials, equipment, superintendence, power, light, water, E&S Control, temporary construction removal/disposal of associated debris, maintenance and protection of traffic, including detour routes, and general site restoration and any other services. All work shall be performed in accordance with the Project Plans and Specifications. Bidders must be Pre-qualified in PennDOT Work Class Codes C1, F, G1, J1, J2, K2, S1, S2, S7, Q, R, T and T1 for this project. In the event of inclement weather the meeting will be held at the same time on Monday, January 7, 2019. Questions/clarifications/requests for information shall be submitted by prospective bidders in writing to RKR Hess, a Division of UTRS, Inc., Attention Dion R. Campbell, P.E. a minimum of 5 days prior to the scheduled bid opening date. Bids shall be accompanied by bid security in the amount equal to 10% of the base bid amount in the form of cash, by a certified good faith check, cashier's check, bank good faith check or irrevocable letter of credit drawn upon a bank authorized to do business in this Commonwealth, or by a bid bond with corporate surety made payable to or naming as oblige Monroe County. A performance bond and a payment bond in the forms provided in the bid specifications, each in amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the contract, and each with satisfactory corporate surety, shall be required to be furnished by the successful Bidders within 10 days of receiving notice of the bid award. An acceptable surety company is any one included in the latest issue of the U.S. Treasury Department Circular 570 listings and authorized by the PA Department of Insurance to do business in Pennsylvania. Bids may not be modified, withdrawn, or canceled by the bidder for sixty (60) days after the time designated for the receipt of bids. Bids may be held by the Monroe County Board of Commissioners for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days (or 120 days under conditions specified under Section 114 of Instruction to Bidders), from the date of the opening of Bids for the purpose of reviewing the Bids and investigating the qualifications of the Bidders, prior to awarding the Contract. The Monroe County Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all bids received or parts thereof, to waive any technicalities in bidding, and to award a contract in the best interests of the County of Monroe. Checks made payable to The County of Monroe will be required for each set of documents so obtained. Copying of Contract Documents is strictly prohibited.
