The CR 473 safety improvements project is located within Lake County. The project length is 2.04 miles from Treadway School Road/Camp Street to CR 44. The project scope includes widening CR 473 to include 8-foot shoulders (5-foot paved including stabilization, base, asphalt and 3-foot unpaved) for approximately 0.43 miles. The other construction activities include removal of existing concrete, driveway reconstruction, turnout/side street reconstruction, mobilization, maintenance of traffic, clearing and grubbing, sodding, embankment, excavation, relocate or replace mailboxes, signing &. pavement marking, including profiled thermoplastic. Drainage improvements include pipe installation, removing and replacing headwalls, extending cross-drains, reconstructing conveyance ditches, existing side drain removal, addition of a new manhole and new side drains with MES. This project is funded through a Local Agency Program (LAP) Agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation The Board of County Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive formalities, and to award the contract in the best interest of Lake County, Florida. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Guarantee acceptable to the County Attorney, which shall be one of the following; bid bond or letter of credit, in the sum of five percent (5%) of the base bid and made payable to Lake County. Said bid bond or letter of credit shall be a guarantee that should the bid be accepted, the bidder will, within ten (10) days after written notice of the award of the contract, enter into a contract with Lake County for the services proposed to be performed and will at that time furnish an acceptable contract surety. Cash, company or personal checks will not be accepted. Exten Bids may be withdrawn prior to the date of opening, but no bids may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the date of opening of bids. Sealed bids will be received by the Office of Procurement Services, on behalf of the Lake County Board of County Commissioners. All bids shall be received no later than the date and time specified.
