The sensors will be connected to the Water Plant's Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) network, allowing both treatment plant staff and distribution system staff access to the information. The project is included in the city's 2021-2026 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of May 26, 2021, the project will be designed in-house by the city. Bids are anticipated to be solicited in in the late summer or early fall of 2021. As of September 18, 2023, no new information available
