Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Portsmouth, Virginia. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
The Work under this Project consists of the replacement of the Churchland Bridge (NBL). Route 17 over Western Branch Elizabeth River, rehabilitation of the SBL, and all associated work. Questions regarding the Bid Documents must be submitted by Friday May 31. 2019 by 5:00 p.m. and responses will be provided by the close of business on Friday, June 7, 2019. Bid Documents may be examined at the office of The City Engineer, located at 801 Crawford Street, 4th Floor City Hall. Portsmouth. and have been provided to the following plan room services Bid Security in the amount of five percent (574 of the Bid shall be submitted with each Bid. The Owner reserves the right to waive minor non-substantive informalities in the Bid, to reject any/or all Bids, to award any Bid in whole or in part and award the Bid considered to be in the best interest of the Owner. The Owner also reserves the right to negotiate with the lowest responsive, responsible Bidder should Bid exceed available funds. The City of Portsmouth does not discriminate in the solicitation or awarding of contracts on the basis of race, religion, faith-based organizations, color, national origin, age, disability or any other basis prohibited by state or federal law.
