Renovation of a military facility in Portsmouth, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a military facility.

Description of the Work: The entire Building 180 will be fully modernized within the existing boundary. The building renovation will be upgraded to an Open Secret Storage, secure space per DoDM 5200.01 (except for the vestibule area and Mechanical room). The current administrative configuration will be converted to a dual lab and administrative working layout. The proposed lab configuration will consist of open bay area lab workshops, materials storage and UFC & NIWC standard office areas. Architectural reprogramming to the existing configuration will include demolition of select walls, construction of new partitions, and infill of existing exterior penetrations (windows). The new admin/lab area will be designed and will include painted gypsum board walls, new ceilings areas and appropriated lighting. Renovation includes full layout with new finishes and stall partitions. A full FF&E package with NIWC standard workstations, kitchenette, and select equipment will be included with the design and reconfiguration of the interior space. Building systems will be properly sized and upgraded to all current standards and codes for mechanical, electrical, water, sewer, communication, and fire protection. Building will be ABA compliant. The existing roof covering, gutters, downspouts, and roof protrusions need to be replaced. The roof replacement is included in this renovation project. New configuration will require updating parking for POV/GOV. The cutoff for PPIs is 14 days prior to proposal due date by 2pm EDT in order to process all inquiries by the proposal due date.
