School Board of Sarasota County will select at least one (1) but no more than two (2) qualified and certified environmental health consulting firm(s) pursuant to Section 287.055 Florida Statutes and School Board Policy #7.71, 3.1, to provide, under the terms of individual non-exclusive three (3)-year continuing contracts, the following professional services:
Environmental Health Services SCOPE OF WORK shall include, but not be limited to, asbestos, lead, mercury, radon, mold, bacteria, indoor air quality, volatile organic compounds (VOC), potable water quality, subsurface investigations (soils & groundwater contamination), hazardous and regulated waste, air monitoring services, health and safety training for schools; provide written reports documenting all survey and inspection activities; estimated quantities of hazardous materials, material locations, field investigation methods, observations and recommendations, laboratory analytical results, recommendations for removal, and estimated removal costs; shall have the resources, capabilities and commitment to complete the required work in an efficient and timely manner, and within the time periods established within the schedule for each project. The total estimated cost for the three (3)-year period is $450,000.00. QUALIFICATIONS: The environmental health services consulting firm and all personnel completing tasks shall have all required licensure, certified by the State of Florida and/or other professional registry associations; shall be principally employed by the consultant and not a sub-consultant or sub-contractor; a minimum of seven years of documented experience providing similar services for projects of a similar nature, complexity and size; must be able to be on site during an emergency event within two hours of notification. Mold and microbial remediation projects shall be monitored by certified industrial hygienist (CIH) who is experienced in indoor air quality (IAQ) work and has an accredited IAQ / mold certification(s). The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
