Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Racine, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
The work includes furnishing of all materials and equipment and performance of the following work, per the Plans, Specifications and Contract Documents (PS & CD). The Base Bid work for the above contract includes full depth pavement removal and resurfacing of Milwaukee Ave from Lewis Street to State Street, and State Street from McHenry Street to Kendall Street. The project includes a mill and overlay of Fox Tree Circle, full removal and asphalt paving of tee turn around on Dale Drive and construction of a driveway access to State Street to serve a existing lift station. Additional work includes spot curb and gutter replacement, various sidewalk replacements within project limits, accessible ramp replacements, sanitary sewer relay, lead watermain service replacements, and pavement markings. Major work items and approximate quantities for which bids are requested include: Removing Asphalt Surface 15500 SY, 4800 tons HMA pavement, 3500 CY of excavation common, 5000 SF of concrete sidewalk, 400 LF of concrete curb and gutter, 525 LF of PVC sanitary sewer main relay, 375 LF of sanitary sewer laterals, 19 VF sanitary manholes 240 LF of copper water services, 8 EA curb boxes, and 6000 LF of pavement marking. Additional items include driveway aprons, storm sewer manholes/catch basins repair, sawing asphalt & concrete, manhole and valve box adjustments, landscape restoration, traffic control, and erosion control. A mandatory additional bid consisting of full pavement and base removal of State Street from Kendall Street to Oakland Avenue is requested. Major work items and approximate quantities for which bids are requested include: Removing Pavement 6125 SY, 1850 tons HMA pavement, 1200 CY of excavation common, 3,600 tons of base aggregate dense, 1400 SF of Sidewalk, and 3500 LF of pavement marking. Additional items include, spot curb repairs, concrete driveway aprons, storm sewer manholes/catch basins repair, sawing asphalt & concrete, manhole adjustments, landscape restoration, traffic control, and erosion control. The Bidding Documents, consisting of Advertisement for Bids, Instructions to Bidders, General Conditions, Supplementary Conditions, Bid Bond, Agreement, Drawings and Specifications, may be examined at the following location(s): Kapur & Associates, Inc. Pine Street 2200 South Pine Street 300 North Pine Street Burlington, WI 53105 Burlington, WI 53105 Burlington, WI 53105 BIDDER'S PREQUALIFICATION: A Bidders qualification statement form will be issued with the Bid Documents. The Bidders Qualification Statement form must be completed and submitted in a sealed envelope at the time of Bid submittal. No bids will be accepted from any Bidder who has not submitted a Bidders Qualification Statement form. Contractors who have submitted prequalification statements to the City of Burlington shall state this on their Bidders Qualification Statement form. These prequalification forms will be reviewed; however, updated proof of qualification may be requested by the Owner prior to acceptance of any bid. The Owner reserves the right to reject the bid of any Bidder who has been determined to be unqualified. As a part of their Bids, Bidders shall submit a full and complete list of: 1) all of their proposed Subcontractors, and 2) the class of work which each will perform. The selected Contractor shall not alter this list without the written consent of the Owner. The PS & CD require that the selected Contractor and Subcontractor(s) furnish a Certificate of Insurance. Bidders shall submit Bids on blanks prepared for that purpose and shall state prices in writing and in figures. Use the form contained in the PS & CD. Bidders should pay attention to the requirements for Bid signatures, as set forth in Bid Security. Bidders may not withdraw their Bids within the 60-day period after the date of the Bid Opening. The Owner will only consider Bids from Bidders who accompany them with bank money order, a Bid Bond, or a qualified certified check, payable to the City of Burlington, in the amount equal to 5 percent of the Bid. This requirement serves to guarantee that, if the Owner accepts the Bid, the selected Contractor will execute and deliver the proper Contract Agreement and Bonds within 15 calendar days after the Notice of Award by the Owner. Failure to return these documents within this prescribed time will result in forfeiture, to the Owner, of the selected Contractor's cash, Bid Bond, or cashier's check, as liquidated damages. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive or not waive any informality in the bids received and to accept any proposal, which they deem most favorable to the interests of the Owner, the City of Burlington.
