Site work for a golf course in Des Moines, Iowa. Conceptual plans call for site work for a golf course.
The Blank Park Zoo desires to expand to the south to accommodate new exhibit space. Blank Park Golf Course is agreeable to this; however, would need to reconfigure various areas within and outside of the course's current property boundaries to maintain an 18-hole course. Collaboration with Des Moines Public Schools will be necessary. Collaboration with Polk County Conservation may be necessary. A feasibility study was completed in early 2018. Requested funding is based on the consultant's 2018 concept estimate. As of September 10, 2020, this project is currently in the City of Des Moines FY 2019-2024 CIP. It is currently unknown what approvals have been obtained. Information regarding design firm selection has not been disclosed. A firm construction timeline has not been released. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
