The Western Avenue Stabilization Project is a piece of Western Avenue approximately 500 linear feet long, starting at the intersection of 9th Street and extending in the north direction. The purpose of the project is to stabilize the hillside and reconstruct a portion of the adjacent road. There are three drilled shaft retaining walls to be constructed along the east side of Western Avenue, which include Retaining Walls A, B and C as shown on the plans, which include Construction Notes/Specifications for the retaining wall construction. Additional improvements include new sidewalk, mill and overlay of pavement, construction of a new set of steps, a large-block retaining wall, drainage improvements, and installation of hand rails and fence, as shown on the plans. Project consists of all improvements shown on the Bid Documents including the plans and specifications.
