Demolition, site work and new construction of a water / sewer project in San Jose, California. Completed plans call for the demolition of a water / sewer project; for the construction of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.
The work shall conform to Section 4, “Scope of Work,” of the City of San Jose Department of Public Works Standard Details and Specifications, these Special Provisions, and as directed by the Engineer. The work to be performed under this Contract shall consist of furnishing all labor, tools,materials, equipment, and appurtenances, as required and necessary to provide a completed project as shown in the construction plans and as noted in these specifications The work under this section shall consist of construction of three submersible pumps at the Fowler Pump Station located at 3295 Fowler Road, San Jose, California. The work includes, but is not limited to, the following: • Install a pre-engineered steel pump building including the foundation system. • Extending the existing 18” pipe from Zone 2 on Fowler Road to the new pump building. • Connection of 12” discharge pipe from pump building to existing 18” Zone 3/4 pipe on Fowler Road. • Install three new submersible pumps, motors, piping, and all associated parts and appurtenances in and around the pump building. • Rehabilitation of pipe in the existing vault that provides Zone 2 water into the tank. • Remove all existing Zone 3/4 infrastructure of pipes, pumps, motors, and electrical conduits inside the vault. • Replace existing 14” altitude valve and two isolation valves on the 14” pipe within the existing vault. • Remove existing manifold piping and valves from the check valve vault which is adjacent to the existing pump vault and backfill with concrete. Slurry the 10” discharge and 6” surge relief pipe. • Abandon existing 18” Zone 3/4 discharge main from the check valve vault to Fowler Road. • Remove existing flow meter and back fill the vault. Remove the existing irrigation back flow preventer and Air Relief Valve (ARV). • Installation of 12” flow meter inside the pump building. • Installation of electrical facilities such as the motor control center, pump control panels, electrical lines, VFDs, electrical panels, fan, and heaters. • Cleaning, disinfecting, filling, and water quality testing of storage tank. • Archeologist services if and when required.
