SCA requires a Construction Manager to renovate an existing bunker which will house the new linear accelerator. The existing Linac #2, Bunker 0.40 is located in Level 0 of the Allan Blair Cancer Centre (ABCC) located in the Pasqua Hospital, Regina, Saskatchewan. Other facility requirements for this Project include renovations to the console area, demolition and reconstruction of the existing structural concrete floor slab to accommodate the replacement of the Linac baseframe and routing of new underslab conduit from the bunker to the console area, addition of lead shielding to the bunker lobby, removal and replacement of the millwork, removal and replacement of the suspended ceilings and removal and replacement of the flooring. The SCA has contracted Varian for the supply and installation of the Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator. The successful Proponent will be engaged under a negotiated contract acceptable to the SCA based on CCDC5B contract for the preparation of the vault prior to Varian installation. Project Scope includes but is not limited to the following: - Preparation of the area to be renovated, including appropriate hoarding procedures to ensure infection control and cleanliness throughout the ABCC are in compliance with CSA standards. Please see Appendix C of RFP for Hoarding and Infection Control Specifications. - Renovations of Linac #2, Bunker 0.40 to accommodate the replacement of a Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator; - Renovations to the adjacent console area; - Renovations to a wall of the Bunker Lobby to accommodate shielding requirements; and, - Partial removal and replacement of the structural concrete floor slab of the bunker and console area to accommodate a new baseframe for the linear accelerator and the new underslab conduit runs for the control cabling.
