Renovation of a civil project in Palm Bay, Florida. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

The renewal and replacement (R&R) improvements at the North Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant (NRWWTP), located at 1105 Clearmont St., in Palm Bay, includes three work areas: RAS/WAS, Headworks and Digester. Per the Technical Specifications and Plans the work may include removal and replacement of, but not limited to, the following: 1. RAS/WAS Pump Station: a. The Contractor will demolish and replace the existing canopy structure. b. The Contractor will remove and replace the RAS pumps, WAS pump, and scum pumps. c. The Contractor will remove and replace the above grade piping, valves, flow meters, and appurtenances to the first fitting above grade. d. The Contractor will sandblast and repaint the existing piping to a depth of one foot below grade. e. The Contractor will relocate the existing RTU panel onto the existing concrete slab at the location shown on the Drawings. f. The Contractor will install variable frequency drives for the RAS and WAS pumps. g. The Contractor will install new lighting for the RAS/WAS Pump Station. 2. Headworks: a. The Contractor will remove the existing mechanical bar screen and screw press and install a new mechanical screen and screw press, associated controls, discharge piping, and appurtenances. b. The Contractor will remove and replace six (6) slide gates. c. The Contractor will remove the existing floor hatch and patch the opening and install a new floor hatch. d. The Contractor will complete all structural concrete work as shown on the Drawings. 3. Digester: a. The Contractor will drain and clean the digester tank. b. The Contractor will remove and replace the existing walkway structure and aerator mechanism inside the digester tank, including mooring posts, platform, and mooring arms. The existing floats will be reused for the new aerator mechanism. c. The Contractor will remove and replace the above ground interconnecting piping as shown on the Drawings. d. The Contractor will recoat the exterior tank wall. Any uncertainty regarding the time a Bid is received will be resolved against the Bidder. In Addition, the Bidder's Name, Address and Florida Contractor's License Number Shall Be Shown on the Outside of the Sealed Envelope. If Submitted by Mail, the Sealed Envelope Shall Be Enclosed in a Separate Mailing Envelope With the Notation "Sealed Bid Envelope Enclosed" on the Face Thereof. The City of Palm Bay reserves the right to waive technicalities, irregularities or formalities; to reject any or all Bids; and to accept that Bid which is in the best interest of the City of Palm Bay. Bidders must comply with the President's Executive Orders Nos. 11246 and 11375 which prohibit discrimination in employment regarding race, creed, color, sex or national origin.
