Completed plans call for the addition of a educational facility; for the demolition of a educational facility; for the renovation of a educational facility; and for site work for a 451,000-square-foot educational facility.

Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for Trade Contractors for the Belmont Middle and High School, Belmont , MA Project Description: Substantial addition and phased renovation to the Belmont High School at 221 Concord Ave., Belmont MA. The proposed new building is 4 floors and is approximately 451,000SF. The estimated construction cost for the project is $247,000,000 and the project is expected to be substantially complete by July 2023. The following sub-trades will be pre-qualified: Masonry; Misc. Metals; Waterproofing, Damp-proofing and Caulking; Roofing and Flashing; Glass and Glazing; Tile; Acoustical Tile; Resilient Floors; Terrazzo; Painting; Fire Protection; Plumbing; HVAC; and Electrical. The estimated construction cost for each sub- trade is included in the RFQ. Skanska Building USA is the Construction Manager. This procurement is conducted pursuant to M.G.L. Chapter 149A. This Request for Qualifications ("RFQ") is the first phase of a two-phase procurement process as set forth in MGL Chapter 149A. Only those respondents deemed qualified will be invited to submit a Bid in response to a detailed Invitation for Bid ("IFB"), which will be issued in the second phase of the procurement process. The Town anticipates prequalification will be complete by October 2019 and the IFB will be available December 2019. The Owner's Project Manager is Daedalus Projects, Inc. The Architect/Engineer is Perkins + Will. All further required public notice information regarding the Building Project, including the prequalification evaluation criteria and the selection process, is included in the RFQ. In accordance with the provisions of applicable statutes, laws, rules, regulations, and ordinances, the Town does not discriminate in employment or the provision of services and all qualified contractors will receive consideration without regard to race, age, color, religious creed, gender, handicap, sexual orientation, veteran's status or national origin. The Town reserves the right to cancel this procurement process or reject in whole or in part any and all bids, if the Town determines that cancellation or rejection serves the best interests of the public to do so.
