Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in North Mankato, Minnesota. Design plans call for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
Building upon the Mankato/North Mankato Area Planning Organization (MAPO) Hwy 169 Corridor Study in 2021, MnDOT is developing a project for 2027 and 2028 construction that implements key elements to improve the pavement, safety and traffic flow of Hwy 169 through the cities of Mankato and North Mankato. 2027 construction will include work from Belgrade Ave. to north of Hwy 14: Reconstruct Hwy 169 for a significant, long-term pavement fix Construct a roundabout at Webster Ave. Remove the signal and close the access at Lind St., and realign to construct at roundabout at N. River Ln. connecting to a new City street Improve bicycle and pedestrian accommodations (specific elements to be determined in detailed design) 2028 construction will include work from Riverfront Dr. to Belgrade Ave. Improve Hwy 169 pavement Repair three bridges Improve pavement on the Sherman St./Lookout Dr./Center St. ramps As of February 12, 2025, project is in final design Fall 2024-2026. Design team not identified.
