Renovation of a water / sewer project in Salt Lake City, Utah. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
Influent Screen(s) Replacement/Retrofit Project Project No. 524905338 Salt Lake City Department of Public Utilities (SLCDPU) is soliciting Bids from prequalified General Contractors (Contractor) to perform the work outlined in the Bid Documents entitled, "Influent Screen(s) Replacement/Retrofit project at the Salt Lake City Water Reclamation Facility (SLCWRF)." The purpose of this project is to rehabilitate and/or replace critical components and systems at the Influent Screenings Facility to ensure dependable operation through the year 2025. Only Bids from the following prequalified Contractors will be received by the SLCDPU: (1) Alder Construction Company; (2) Nelson Brothers Construction Company; and (3) VanCon. In addition, only the following prequalified Electrical Contractors (Electricians) may submit bids to the Contractor: (1) DoubleD Electrical & Instrumentation; and (2) Skyline Electric Company. All other supporting trades and equipment and construction material suppliers should submit bids for services directly to those prequalified Contractors and Electricians listed above. The Contractor will replace existing influent screens, washer/compactors and hoppers and power distribution and control panels with City prepurchased equipment, install new screen channel isolation gates, and upgrade the Influent Screenings Building's HVAC system. The Contractor will demolish, remove and properly dispose existing equipment and materials and make several building modifications to accommodate the installation of new equipment, including new exterior stairs, access doors, covered channels, concrete repairs, repairs to roof, and new concrete apron for roll-off containers. All Work must be performed safely in close coordination with Salt Lake City Water Reclamation Facility operations staff to ensure continuous operation of the Influent Screenings Building throughout this project. All Contractors and Electricians are invited to attend to obtain relevant information concerning the project. Guidelines for bidding will be explained and questions pertinent to the contract, bonds, plans and specifications will be discussed. After completing this evaluation, the City may select a prequalified Contractor to enter into negotiations for a contract, or may request Bidders to meet in interviews with the SLCDPU selection committee. Thereafter, contract negotiations will be initiated with the selected Bidder. Bidders on this work will be required to comply with the President's Executive Order No. 11246, and the provisions of Executive Order no. 11375, Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968 and 24 CRF Part 135 as included therein.
