It is the purpose and intent of this invitation to secure bids for item(s) and/or services as listed herein for the School Board of Sarasota County, Florida, hereinafter called the School Board. Items(s) and/or services shall be provided by the approved bidder, hereinafter called the Contractor. The School Board of Sarasota County, Florida intends to establish firm prices for a period of one year for irrigation installation, maintenance, and repair services regularly found in the irrigation field in accordance with OSHA (Occupational Safety Hazards Act), local and state regulations for irrigation services. NOTE: The Contractor must agree that during a declared disaster situation that any bid items with a mark-up will be billed at actual cost without any mark-up permitted. The Contractor shall provide all necessary labor, supervision, tools, test equipment, and fuel to facilitate monthly inspections of the irrigation systems at locations as awarded. This monthly inspection shall be bid as an hourly rate to include all manpower required for inspection and testing of systems. No overtime rates will be allowed for inspections. During the monthly inspection of the irrigation systems, the Contractor shall test the complete irrigation system from pump to sprinkler head. This test shall encompass all zones. The Contractor shall indicate the deficiencies in the system and submit in detail the cost for repairs. This detail shall be itemized and show costs as related to the bid prices. The repair service shall include the servicing of the related wells. All inspections shall be accomplished during times when students are not on site. All inspections need to be scheduled with the individual schools through the designated Facilities Services personnel. In addition to the monthly inspections, the Contractor shall provide all necessary labor, supervision, tools, test equipment, materials, approved rentals, approved subcontracted services, delivery, and fuel to facilitate all major and minor repairs, renovation, design, and new installations regularly found in the irrigation field. This shall be bid as labor rates and percentage markup of costs. Work will be assigned by managers in each zone of the district. The Contractor must have a minimum of three Service Technicians on staff for the district. The zone locations are indicated on the 'Facilities Zone' page. All work shall conform to all existing governing authorities' codes and regulations. The work must be accomplished with professional methods and standards of the trade. Bids received after the scheduled time for opening will not be considered. Any bid envelopes received late will be returned to the bidder unopened.
