Site work for a civil project in Great Falls, Montana. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
As of 10/07/2021 This project has not been awarded and will rebid at a future date. The former Cottonwood #2 Mine is located approximately 0.25 miles east of Stockett, Montana, on a bench overlocking the town. The mine site covers an area of approximately 110 acres including section 36 within Township 19 North, Range 4 East; and section 1 within Township 18 North, Range 4 East. The work site is on the hillsides below the former mine site. Work performed in the 1980s and early 1990s attempted to plug and direct mine seepage to the highway road ditch located beneath the site. However, piping installed during these projects eventually fouled and the mine seepage began to flow from the hillside, causing vegetation to fail. Work for this project will consist of, but is not necessarily limited to, providing all labor, materials, equipment, tools, earthwork, and incidentals necessary to the following: Remove and reclaim existing ditches where previously installed at the site; Remove two (2) existing concrete vaults; Locate, re-open previously plugged adits and install drainage pipes to relieve hydraulic pressures; Install subsurface drainage seepage collection piping; Install drainage ditches to convey the water to the highway ditch; Install a settling basin within the road ditch; and, Revegetate all areas disturbed by construction.
