This Geotechnical Evaluation Report addresses the proposed design and construction of the various renovations and expansions of the existing track and field facilities at Hibbing High School's Cheever Field. Per the Request for Proposal (RFP) provided by Architectural Resources, Inc. dated September 18, 2020, the proposed project will include the renovation and expansion of the existing track and field facilities. Constructed berms on the east side of the site will be removed as part of this work. Retaining walls supporting the existing bleachers will need to be addressed. There are also adjacent wetland areas. The RFP included a suggested soil boring location drawing identifying 12 suggested boring locations, an aerial of the existing site, and a Hibbing High School - Base Bid sheet that identified a list of renovation and expansion items to be included under the base bid. The list included 400M track with jumping events and pole vault area, football field, softball field, remove east berms, regrading and drainage, discus and shot-put turf restoration, landscaping, fencing and LED lighting. Renovations to the football and softball field will also likely include replacing the existing natural grass surface with a synthetic turf surface.
