Site work for a water / sewer project in Manhattan, Kansas. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
As of November 20,2019 This project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established. Project involves the armoring 325 lf of the streambank along the outside of the bend of Wildcat Creek. 50 LF of 36-inch sanitary vitrified clay pipe (VCP) is currently exposed and will be encased in concrete. The stream banks will be graded to a stable side slope, and the stream channel will be armored with 604 CY of KDOT 1/2 Ton Riprap. An existing sanitary sewer inverted siphon is exposed and undercut on the north bank of Wildcat Creek. 20 CY of flowable fill will be placed underneath the siphon to support the exposed portions of the pipe encasement. 1453 CY of KDOT 1 Ton Riprap armoring will be placed along the stream bank and toe of the slope to prevent the creek from migrating north into the infrastructure The eroded soil backfill above the 220 LF of existing revetment will be removed to the rock structure below and then recompacted and shaped. In addition, the 30 SY of revetment surrounding a stormwater headwall will be removed and reconstructed to repair erosion of the supporting subgrade. Const estimate between $700,000-$950,000.
