Remodeling of an educational facility in Racine, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for the remodel of a 129,080-square-foot, two-story above grade educational facility.
As of April 15,2025, an architect a construction manager has been selected and this project is in the planning phase. Construction is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2026 and complete in the third quarter of 2027. Bond fund $598 million of work over 30 years WALDEN III SCHOOL the referendum would provide the funding needed to make the following improvements at Walden: SAFETY & SECURITY: • Create secure entrance/office with elevator • Update for ADA-compliant access • Replace fire alarm, clock and PA systems • Install security cameras and emergency backup generator LEARNING SPACES: • Create Fabrication/Robotics Lab • Right-size Special Education classrooms • Create breakout spaces for small group learning • Reconfigure and remodel existing Math classrooms and labs • Add windows to Library for natural lighting and seating in main cafeteria NEW ADDITIONS: • Construct an outdoor classroom INFRASTRUCTURE: • Refresh building interiors (LED lighting, flooring, ceilings, casework, paint walls) Address building maintenance (doors, HVAC updates, plumbing, roofing, exterior masonry, asphalt/concrete and retro-commissioning) • Add Air Conditioning The 2020 bond referendum was passed and approved by the voters on April 7, 2020.
