Completed plans call for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field; for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for outdoor lighting for a playground / park / athletic field.
Site & Amenities Construction for a 228.2 acre Park south of the William Roscoe Anderson Jr. Recreation Center at 2450 Reynolds Park Road. Pave 79 existing gravel parking spaces, pave existing granite path, new paved connection at Leight Street, custom mining/climbing playground, large shelters (40 x 80'), small pavilions, shade structures, new stair connection to overlook boom, shotcrete retaining/climbing walls, site furnishings, solar lighting and native shade trees. Two (2) new 3,200 square foot each under roof Large Shelters with built-in concrete benches to be A606- 4 (Corten) Weathering Steel panels & trusses. Three (3) sets of two (2) Small Pavilions 896 SF total each to be A606-4 (Corten) Weathering Steel panels & trusses. Two (2) Shade Structures 32' diameter each to be A606-4 (Corten) Weathering Steel panels & trusses with perforated metal roof. Playground Equipment and Surfacing. Playground tower 42' height (15x15'square) with 3 levels of composite decking & climbing elements plus covered observation deck. Tower frame to be hollow structural steel frame (10x10x 5/16). Climber frame to be 2 3/8" OD phosphate dipped steel tubing finished w/powder coat or hot dipped galvanized finish. Playground bridge connections (enclosed stainless steel cable mesh) with hollow structural steel frame (10x10x 5/16) supports & landings at (15 x15' square) and (8'-10" wide x 36' long). The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, the following: Structural Steel Framing, Fabrication and Roofing for Shelters Site work including Clearing & Grubbing, Demolition, Erosion Control and Grading Site Utilities (water, electrical) Underground Stormwater System Asphalt Paving Aggregate Base Course Paving Concrete Curbing Concrete Paving Shotcrete Retaining/Climbing Walls Permanent Seeding Landscaping and Mulching Solar Powered Roadway & Parking Lighting Concrete and Masonry Electrical Plumbing Minority and Women Business Enterprise goals apply: 8% MBE, 6% WBE For technical questions regarding this project, please submit questions in writing to Darren Redfield at darrenmr@cityofws.org for response to all by addendum. End of Question Period is 5:00 PM, December 30, 2020. The City reserves the right to waive any informalities in the bidding and to reject any or all proposals. Staff will be present to answer questions. Following this meeting, interested parties will drive to the project site to observe the existing conditions. A sign-in sheet will serve as the attendance record. Prime bidders and subcontractors are encouraged to attend to learn about the project scope and to discuss outreach efforts to HUB-certified M/WBE subcontractors.
