Expected award date is on August 17, 2020.** Scope summary: removal of existing asphalt paths, removal of existing play equipment and surfacing, grading, site drainage improvements, new concrete walkways, multiple playground structures, water fountain, site furniture, sod and landscaping, etc. Playground equipment is Not In Contract. Bidders are hereby notified that they must be properly licensed as required by Chapter 87 of the North Carolina General Statutes. For technical questions regarding this project, please submit questions in writing to Darren Redfield at darrenmr@cityofws.org for response to all by addendum. End of Question Period is 1:00 PM, May 20, 2020. M/WBE goals apply. Construction timeline: 100 calendar days beginning ~July 23, 2020. Interested bidders should visit the project location - 1590 Bolton Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 - to conduct the necessary due diligence and ascertain the existing conditions. The existing playground near the picnic shelter and tennis courts is the one being replaced. The purpose of this conference is to summarize the scope of work involved and to explain the City's Minority and Woman Owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) program and required goals and outreach to HUB-certified M/WBE firms as applicable to this project. The City reserves the right to waive any informalities in the bidding and to reject any or all proposals.
