The Downtown Loop Urban Design and Transportation Plan seeks to establish a strong connection between Old Town and Beaverton Central along SW Hall Boulevard and SW Watson Avenue between SW Crescent Street to SW Fifth Street. The plan will identify roadway and sidewalk improvements to establish a district identity, prioritize safety for people walking, biking and taking transit, and support the growing residential and business community. The project is included in the city's 2023-2030 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of December 9, 2024, project is in Phase 1 to design and construct a demonstration project. Per owner, construction has not started. They do not anticipate construction until 2027. They are in the process of procurement for design work for this project. FY 2022-2023 The Planning Phase of the project will conclude with the adoption of the Transportation and Urban Design Plan for the Loop, which will include preliminary cost estimates and an implementation program. At this point, the implementation program will be followed. In addition, the project team will continue to pursue funding opportunities for the project. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
