Demolition, site work and new construction of an educational facility in Garden City, New York. Completed plans call for the demolition of a educational facility; for the construction of a 9,500-square-foot educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.

As of February 28, 2022, contracts are being finalized and an award is pending. A timeline for award has not been confirmed. The project entails the renovation of an existing vacant structure to create a new educational facility, approx. 9,500 S.F., achieving a LEED certification level of Silver. The facility will house new classrooms, culinary laboratories, commons, dining, and food storage. Work shall include all Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Furniture, Finishes & Equipment (FFE). Features of the project include demolition and reconstruction of a portion of the existing facade, select structural work, as well as new windows, doors, roof, electrical service, electrical distribution, lighting, geothermal field, HVAC systems, HVAC distribution, interior partitions, signage, and landscaping. Project Location: 108 Duncan Avenue, Garden City, NY 11530 Instructions to Bidders, Form of Bid Bond, Proposal, Form of Agreement, Specifications and the Plans, herein called the "Contract Documents", may be examined at the Office of Procurement of Nassau Community College, Department of Purchasing, Tower Building, 4th Floor, One Education Drive, Garden City, New York, Phone Number, (516) 572-7300, during the hours of 9:00 am 3:00 pm Monday thru Thursday (excluding holidays) from March 9, 2020 until May 6, 2020 at 2:00 pm. A PROJECT LABOR AGREEMENT, negotiated between Nassau Community College and the Construction Trades Council of Nassau and Suffolk Counties, will be attached in a future addendum. Security for Bid and List of Subcontractors as set forth herein must be presented with the Bid. FAILURE TO PROVIDE THE REQUIRED SECURITY WILL RENDER THE BIDDER NON-RESPONSIVE AND THE BID WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED, OPENED OR READ ALOUD. All bidders will be held to have accepted all terms and conditions of the bid and Contract Documents, to have examined the site and conditions that may affect the work and to have fully informed themselves of all requirements they will be held responsible to perform. No claim for relief of mistakes in the bid will be entertained after bid response. This Contract will be subject to Nassau County Local Law No. 9-2002, which requires that firms entering into contracts must participate in registered and approved apprenticeship training programs. At the time of bid submission, the Contractor and its proposed Subcontractors shall submit as part of its bid an affidavit of participation in approved apprenticeship training programs that are appropriate for the type and scope of work to be performed under the Agreement. The apprenticeship training programs shall be registered with, and approved by, the New York State Commissioner of Labor in accordance with Article 23 of the New York State Labor Law. Note that if the Contractor does not comply with these requirements, the College may declare the Contractor's bid proposal non-responsive and award the Contract to the next lowest responsible Bidder. ADDENDA AND INTERPRETATIONS No interpretation of the meaning of the Drawings, Specifications or other Contract Documents will be made to any Bidder orally. Prospective bidders must request in writing such interpretation from the Director and such interpretation will be given in writing. To be given consideration, such request must be received no later than 4:00 pm on April 8, 2020. Any and all such interpretations and any supplemental instructions will be in the form of written addenda which, if issued, will be sent by certified mail, with return receipt requested, to all prospective bidders who have picked up the Bid Documents (at the respective address furnished for such purposes). Failure of any bidder to receive any such addenda or interpretation shall not relieve any bidder from any obligation under his bid as submitted. All addenda so issued shall become part of the Contract Document. Included in the issued Addenda will be the list of vendors that picked up the Bid Documents as well as the sign-in sheet of who attended the walkthrough. Estimated value of the project will not be provided.
