Project was awarded to S.J. Amoroso Construction Co., LLC in the amount of $17,548,200 to cover (1) the base bid ($17,367,200), and (2) bid alternates #1-3 ($181,000). work to be done under this contract includes the construction of new recreation center and associated outdoor spaces at Herz Playground, a facility within John McLaren Park. The address of the new facility is 160 Mrs. Ruth Jackson Way (formerly Hahn Street). The recreation center will feature a basketball court, bleachers, multi-purpose room, staff office, reception area, lobby, kitchen, restrooms, storage and custodial spaces. The sitework includes tree removal, demolition, grading, landscaping, new site furnishings and lighting, an adult fitness area, picnic area, nature exploration area and pathways. Additional work includes a staff maintenance yard, utilities, right- of-way work and all other work as shown on the drawings and specifications. Contract duration: 487 consecutive calendar days from NTP to Substantial Completion. The Small Business Enterprise (SBE) subcontracting requirement for this project is 20%. Bidder is required to perform good faith efforts regardless of if the goal is met. Bid discounts per San Francisco Administrative Code Chapter 14B are not applicable to this contract.
