As of July 8 , 2020 the project was awarded to Park Construction Company for $2,811,859.49, and a start date has not officially been set but is expected within the next couple of weeks. The work generally consists of reconstruction 2.25 miles of Variolite Street between Alpine Drive and 173 rd Avenue.The work is estimated to include: 37,705 square yards of stabilized full depth pavement reclamation, 19,543 square yards of full depth pavement reclamation (not stabilized), 12,567 tons of bituminous pavement, 458 lineal feet of culvert, 371 lineal feet of drain tile pipe, 2,361 lineal feet of sanitary sewer pipe, 4,665 lineal feet of watermain pipe, Alternative bid for pedestrian crosswalk flasher system, and Miscellaneous other improvements. Each bidder shall submit a bid bond made payable to the City of Ramsey in the amount of 5% of the total bid, to be forfeited as liquidated damages in the event that the bid is accepted and the bidder shall fail to promptly enter into a written contract and furnish the required bond. The online bid must be completed and submitted, all addenda acknowledged and acknowledgement uploaded to the site, and a copy of the bid bond uploaded to the site. The original bid bond must be delivered to the City within 2 business days after the bid opening. No bidder may withdraw their bid for at least 45 days after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids. The City of Ramsey reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to waive informalities
