Stantec and XL Construction were selected to form the design-build team for UC Davis Health's Rancho Cordova facility. Kristine Townsend, of Stantec, is the design manager on the project. She said UC Davis Health is in the process of leasing the building at 10850 White Rock Road in Rancho Cordova. The 194,000-square-foot building was built in 1998. "It's in dire need of an update," Townsend said. Around 1,000 employees will work out of the space, housing members from the executive leadership team and the finance, human resources, revenue and information technology departments. "They're looking at bringing patient network services into one spot," Townsend said. According to a news release from Stantec, the space will accommodate the university's current team, and provide space for future growth. UC Davis Health is also setting up a call center across the street, at 10888 White Rock Road. Townsend said the university has approved a capital budget for the project of $45 million to $50 million. The programming phase will wrap up in September, Townsend said, and design and construction will continue in 2021. UC Davis Health could begin moving in at the beginning of the year in 2022. "We're going to be bringing technology, opportunities for collaboration and connectivity," Townsend said. She said technology will be integrated throughout the design of the space, and it will be timeless, sophisticated, bright and airy. "The folks that are going into this facility make sure UC Davis Health runs," Townsend said. "UC Davis wants to give these folks that are residing here that sense of specialness." The building will be completely gutted inside, but has some good structural elements, Townsend said, including a raised floor and exposed steel beams. The renovated facility will be modern and tech-forward. "This is not like anything the Sacramento Valley has seen in a while," Townsend said. "I feel like this is the tip of the iceberg for where Sacramento is going." The facility will feature open, flexible workstations, huddles areas, conference rooms and enclosed offices. It will be designed in support of LEED Gold standards and University of California Carbon Neutrality guidelines. "We're going to see more clients like UC Davis Health, and other technology clients coming from the Bay Area," Townsend said. "We're going to see more of this high-end, modern, technology-savvy clients coming into our region, and that's what's really exciting about this project." ______________________________________________________________________________________________ This RFQ is for the in Rack cabling and equipment installation required for the completion of the White Rock Cabling Installation project network installation and turn up. This scope of work is for the deliverables for the Patient Call Center In Rack cabling installer. Network equipment is to be provided by UCDHS IT to accommodate for the user requirements. Space in the Rack is to be coordinated with a UC representative. All cabling will be installed in accordance with ANSI/TIA/EIA standards, BICSI TDMM methodology, NEC, State, County and local building and fire codes. Contractor shall assume all responsibility of tasks unless noted otherwise. Insurance liability shall include accidental damage to existing University cable and property. Per UC Policy.
