The Town of Union Bridge is requesting design/build cost proposals from companies to design, purchase and install a backup generator for the Town's Water Treatment Plant. Contractor shall be responsible for performing and completing and for causing all sub-consultants and subcontractors to perform and complete the design and construction of the project as set forth in this Scope of Work. This shall include, but is not limited to, design services, construction, labor, materials, equipment, furnishings, tools, construction equipment and machinery, utilities, transportation, field offices, required inspections, QA/QC and services as discussed in this Scope of Work. The back-up generator shall automatically start and transfer load on loss of utility feed or on command. Description of project activities includes the design and construction of the following: Identify, design and install appropriate Kilowatt standby diesel generator with outdoor enclosure including silent exhaust. Generator shall be installed with new diesel storage tank/subbase to provide no less than 24 hours of spare fuel. Provide and install new Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS)'s and wiring to/from new generator. Trenching and patching for electrical wiring conduits, and diesel fuel piping. Provide any required protective crash posts for fuel tank and generator (if necessary from State of Maryland or Carroll County Code). Provide fuel piping connection from the fuel tank to the generator. Design and provide concrete pad to mount contractor supplied fuel tank and generator in its permanent location. The question and answer period for this bid begins on July 9, 2020 and ends on July 23, 2020 at 4:30pm. Any bidder finding discrepancy in or omission from the specifications, or is in doubt as to their meaning, can contact Mike Reynolds (mreynolds@mrdc.net) with the Town of Union Bridge, in writing. Exceptions taken, in no way obligate the Town of Union Bridge to change the specifications. The Town Office will notify all bidders in writing, by addendum duly issued, of any interpretations made of specifications or instructions.
