Site work for a road / highway in High Level, Alberta. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.
The Work consists of overlaying 1.5 kilometers of Heliport Road (Township Road 1104), which is located 4.8 kilometers north of High Level. The overlay is to have a total average overlay width of 80mm. The overlay is to be placed in two lifts. The first lift is a leveling course and is to have an average thickness of 30mm. The second lift is to have an average thickness of 50mm. All approaches are to be overlaid to existing pavement dimensions. The addition of 4-20 gravel on approaches may be necessary to eliminate the bump caused by the addition on the 80mm ACP overlay. The additional gravel will not be paid for separately and will be considered inclusive of the ACP overlay work. The contractor shall cold mill existing ACP adjacent to the railway crossing such that the overlay of 80mm ACP does not create additional bumps or dips, when crossing the rail road tracks. The contractor shall determine the best methodology, but attention is drawn to 3.50.5.2.3 Transverse Pavement Joints of the specifications. CN has indicated they will replace the ballast and rail ahead of paving. The Contractor will be required to pave the surface between the rails. Award subject to final approval.
