Introduction and History: This project is for owners representative services for the bidding and construction phases of a new Slade Elementary school, including assisting the owner with oversight of the bidding process and construction. The project site is 1275 North 11th Street currently occupied by the Auxiliary gym which is free standing and will be incorporated into the New Slade Elementary School. This is a 23.5 acre site with tennis courts, a stadium and track and practice field that will be retained but will not be part of the project. This project is a replacement of an existing 3 section elementary school with a 4 section elementary school (K-5) to address both condition for the Old Slade Elementary and capacity issues for the school district. Project Description and Intent: The scope of this project is for owners representative services for the bidding and construction phases of a new Slade Elementary school, including assisting the owner with oversight of the bidding process and construction. The SFC allowable square footage is 59,571 with an exception of 3,525 for a total allowable square footage is 63,096 with a required capacity of 448 students (K-5) as approved by the Commission on April 23, 2015. The Owners Representatives main responsibility is to work in conjunction with the contractor and architect of the project to keep the project within the projected scope and perform any necessary duties that are outlined in the contract that follows the RFP. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
