Renovation of a mixed-use development in Los Angeles, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; and library.
Provide all labor and equipment to clean the ductwork systems and air handler units located in Boyer Hall and Young Research Library. Scope of Work: The Contractor shall clean the HVAC components and verify the cleanliness through inspection and/or testing in accordance with items specified in the Bidding Documents and applicable NADCA Standards. Duct cleaning shall be limited to all supply air pathways including the supply fan unit, distribution ducting, risers, turning vanes, laterals to terminal units and diffusers. Include the cleaning of return air, exhaust air and transfer air diffusers or grilles. Prior to any duct cleaning, submit digital photographs of the as-is condition of all ductwork. Remove visible surface contaminants and deposits from within the HVAC system in accordance with the Bidding Documents. The HVAC system is defined to include all interior surface of the facilitys air distribution system containing internally lined ductwork as indicated in the Contract Documents and floor plan drawings. This includes ducts from the points where the air enters the system to the points where the air is discharged from the system. Coat all internally lined ductwork with a biocidal growth inhibitor. Encapsulate all internally lined ductwork with a water based protective coating to seal all surfaces. Encapsulation shall begin immediately at the air handler, and extend 20-0 down the ductwork unless otherwise noted by Universitys Representative. Report all missing or degraded insulation. Missing and degraded insulation shall be repaired or replaced as specified in Unit Price 1, as approved by Universitys Representative. Deliverables: Product Data: Submit product description and list of materials. Submit digital photographs of the as-is condition of all ductwork. Submit digital photograph of the ductwork interiors after the work is complete. The after photographs shall correspond to the before photographs for validation of the work. Process: Submit complete process for treatment, encapsulation and repair. The successful Bidder will be required to have the following California current and active contractors license at the time of submission of the Bid: C-20 License (Warm-Air Heating, Ventilating & Air-Conditioning) University has prequalified prime contractor bidders for this Project and posted a list of said firms on the UCLA Online Planroom website Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University policy. Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The successful Bidder and its subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents and to pay prevailing wage at the location of the work. The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. No contractor or subcontractor, regardless of tier, may be listed on a Bid for, or engage in the performance of, any portion of this project, unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 and 1771.1. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $13 per hour as of 10/1/15, $14 per hour as of 10/1/16, and $15 per hour as of 10/1/17) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements.
